The previous annex was a red brick addition made in the middle of the last century. You can see pictures in earlier posts, but it looked something like this:
El antiguo anexo se añadió en medio del siglo pasado de ladrillo rojo. Puedes ver fotos en las entradas anteriores, pero más o menos era así:
As it was falling away down the hill the whole thing had to be replaced, but the new annex is also built of red brick:
Se estaba cayendo hacia la cuesta así que hacía falta quitarlo entero y volver a ponerlo, pero la nueva construcción también está hecha de ladrillo rojo:
Of course, we wanted to get it looking more discreet so it would blend in and use a colour typical of the old part of the village. On the other hand we didn’t want to match the stone too closely as it obviously isn’t stone and would never be quite the same. So we took a tour around town to see what the neighbours have done and what we most liked.

It seemed that for the most part a neutral off-white sandy stone colour was the go, so we followed suit.
Parecía que lo más típico era casi un blanco crudo neutral, color de piedra arenosa, así que lo copiamos.
