Today a small milestone at the beginning of our project – we launch a blog! After many months of waiting, a lot of paperwork and the inevitable (and not so inevitable) delays, finally it seems that we will be beginning construction very soon. And we hope to document all (or most) of the wonders, madness, joys and headaches of the process.

To give a sense of time: it has now been almost two years since we first saw (and fell in love with) the house. The sale went through in April last year and we finally had approval from the council at the start of this year. They say these things take time, but it really has to be seen to be believed.

Nonetheless, our enthusiasm remains undiminished and the tail end of a beautiful summer reminds us why we always thought this was such a beautiful place.

Hoy celebramos otro paso al inicio del proyecto – ¡empezamos el blog! Después de muchos meses de espera, mucho papeleo y retrasos (algunos evitables, otros no), al final parece que empezaremos las obras muy pronto. Esperamos poder documentar todo (o casi todo) de las maravillas, locuras, ilusiones y dolores de cabeza del proceso.

Para poner las cosas en perspectiva: ya hace casi dos años que vimos la casa por primera vez (amor a primera vista). Se hizo la compra en abril del año pasado, obtuvimos licencia del ayuntamiento ese pasado enero. Dicen que estas cosas toman su tiempo, pero hay que vivirlo para verlo.

Sin embargo, nuestro entusiasmo se mantiene intacto, y los últimos coletazos de este bonito verano nos recuerdan por qué siempre pensábamos que este era un sitio tan idílico.

Nota: Las uvas madurando bien este año…
